Beach sand embodies the dynamic nature of the ocean and the grounding energy of the earth. It also represents strength and purification and symbolizes a fresh start, the passage of time, and impermanence. By choosing to live on the coast, most of us have walked barefoot on our beaches, this is ‘grounding’ or ‘earthing.’ I believe our individual energy has exchanges with our beach’s energy, thereby connecting us all to the Earth’s energy. This is why I choose to get my sand from our local beaches as I believe we are collectively connected to this energy. This collection of sand has come from Hammock’s Beach. 

In combining Earth’s grounding energies with our chakras, because beach sand connects you directly to the Earth’s energy, known as Grounding or Earthing, this already strengthens the Root chakra. The dynamic nature of the ocean symbolizes the need for balance and release of what no longer serves you. Sand cleanses negative energy clearing chakra blockages and effectively balances your chakras via the quartz (silica) in the sand amplifying the energies of the specific chakra you chose to work with.
